ATNF participated at the Delhi Global Nutrition Report Roundtable “From Data Deserts to Fertile Facts”
12 February 2015“Good quality data support accountability, and accountability is the glue that connects commitment to action and to impact” – Lawrence Haddad
The Indian partners of Global Nutrition Report decided to organize the first regional roundtable on an issue highly relevant in the Indian context of malnutrition – the importance of data for accountability and for programme and policy formulation. Experts from organizations such as the Public Health Foundation of India, IFPRI, International Centre for Human Development and Centre for Policy Research Accountability Initiative participated at the event.
There were plenty of ideas from the panelists about ways of strengthening accountability for nutrition in India. All experts agreed that good quality and evidence based data can trigger action. ATNF highlighted the importance of including the private sector in strengthening accountability for malnutrition and presented the Access to Nutrition India Spotlight Index as a tool to accelerate action by business.
