Despite the compelling economics of nutrition investment, nutrition receives less than 0.4% of global ODA and remains almost invisible in capital markets. As of 2023, only two nutrition-labelled bonds had been issued globally, mobilising under $500 million, against $625.8 billion in green bonds in 2024 alone.

In response, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, in collaboration with ATNi, published ‘Financing Nutrition at Scale: Capital Market Strategies for Investors.’ This report provides insights and perspectives from 11 real-world case studies that have successfully navigated the financial landscape for nutrition. In addition, it provides ESG and impact investors with practical pathways to integrate nutrition into existing climate, agrifood and health investments.
