Access to Nutrition Foundation (ANTF) is dedicated to the public interest. In the Netherlands, this is known as ANBI or 'algemeen nut beogende instelling.'

Our mission
To empower food system actors—starting with industry—to accelerate access to nutritious, affordable and sustainable diets. We develop data-driven tools, facilitate dialogues and thought leadership, and support policies focusing on the role of markets in transforming the food system.
Our vision
A world where markets contribute to providing access to nutritious and affordable diets for all. We envision a world where all people have access healthy diets which support optimal physical and mental health, leading to healthier, more resilient societies.
Our goal
To transform markets so that at least half of companies’ food and beverage sales are derived from healthy products by 2030 and contribute to healthy, sustainable diets for all.
Main Activities
- ATNi assesses food system actors, including food and beverage companies, retailers, and suppliers/producers, on their nutrition-related commitments, practices and performance globally.
- The latest assessments include the Retail Assessment 2025-2026 and the VitaMin Premix Supplier Assessment 2025.
- ATNi works across the finance sector to embed nutrition in food and beverage sector investments globally.
- 77 investor signatories have signed up to ATNi’s Investor Expectations on Diets, Nutrition and Health, representing over USD 21 trillion AUM.
- This initiative works to drive healthier foods through country-level incentives and guardrails.
- In the current phase, ATNi provides technical support on private sector accountability tools, regulations, and monitoring of the healthiness of packaged and processed foods in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN)
- ATNi has been assessing companies manufacturing breastmilk substitutes (BMS) on their marketing policies and practices since 2013.
- Our latest IYCN indexes were published in 2024: BMS Index and Complementary Foods Index.
Governance and Board
Independence
ANTF is based in Utrecht, The Netherlands and is governed by an independent and unpaid Board. We are completely independent and accept no funding from the food and beverage industry. For more information about our Principles of Engagement with industry, click here.
Conflict of Interest policy
ATNF operates under a strict Conflict of Interest policy. We do not accept financial contributions from the food and beverage industry, offer consultancy services to them, or engage in any other financial relationships with them. ATNF is funded by donors who have no involvement in our day-to-day operations.
Gift policy
The purpose of the ATNF Gift Policy is to establish guidelines for giving and receiving gifts, hospitality, and
other benefits to and from external parties by employees, experts, consultants, contractors, board
members and any other representatives of ATNF. The policy can be downloaded here.
Anti-bribery policy
At ATNF we are committed to conducting all of our activities with integrity, transparency, and fairness. The Anti-Bribery Policy is designed to prevent bribery and corruption in all forms as we engage with stakeholders, including the food industry, investors, policymakers, and other partners. Whistleblower policy
The ATNF Whistleblower policy is to encourage employees, board members, consultants and other stakeholders to raise any serious concerns they may have about the way in which ATNF is run or about the conduct of those involved running it. This policy can be downloaded here.
Code of Conduct and Ethics policy
The ATNF Code of Conduct and Ethics policy sets out the fundamental principles and standards that ATNF strives to maintain, and as a guide to the actions and decisions of all those working with and for ATNF. The Code of Conduct & Ethics Policy applies to all ATNF’s Staff, board members, consultants and other stakeholders who have a contractual relationship with ATNF. It can be downloaded here.

Remuneration policy
ATNF pays its staff a market-based salary and benefit package. The salary and employment conditions of the Executive Director, who is a member of the Board ex officio, are determined by the Board. Besides the Executive Director of the Foundation, no members of the Board and Expert Group receive remuneration for the fulfilment of their responsibilities to the Foundation.
AI Ethics Policy
This ATNF Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics policy outlines principles and guidelines for the ethical use, development, and governance of AI within ATNF. As a research-focused and data-driven organization addressing global nutrition, we are committed to ensuring that AI technologies are used responsibly and transparently, respecting the rights and interests of all stakeholders.

Next to our full legal name, Stichting Access to Nutrition Foundation, the acronym ATNF is also used in all formal documents, whereas ATNi is our brand name and used in daily communications.
