Poor diets are the leading cause of mortality in the US and are associated with a substantial share of healthcare costs. Packaged food and beverage (F&B) companies play a significant role in shaping the nutritional quality of products we buy and consume, and the broader food environment.
What if healthier food became the norm?
ATNi and ShareAction have partnered on a modelling project, with technical support from Nesta, to explore the potential health impacts of shifting packaged food and beverages sales towards healthier products, including:
- 16,000 products across a range of food and drink categories;
- Products from 24 major F&B companies active in the US market;
- Nutritional quality assessments using the Health Star Rating.
Join us as we dive into the findings of the study, and explore how investors, companies, policymakers and civil society organisations can take practical actions to drive healthier food environments and unlock substantial public health benefits.
The report will be published ahead of the launch event – be the first to read the report here!
